Putting the Muscle back into Classic Cars

Fixing the rail on the VG Valiant Coupe

April 19, 2024

Like so many other Chryslers Jake's VG Coupe had extensive damage to the front chassis rail.  Usually this is caused by rust and occasionally by collision damage, as this is a common problem with Chrysler's Valigrunt see's quite allot of chassis rail repairs.  As the chassis rails are an integral structural part of your car it is important that the faulty section isn't just removed and replaced.  To avoid twist and the car crumpling in an accident the strength needs to be put back into the chassis rail, this is where Shane's training and experience as a fabrication engineer is important in ensuring the structural integrity of your car.  As we are removing a section of the rail we take this opportunity to treat both the inside and the outside of the rail,  this way it ensures that the same problem shouldn't repeat itself and once it is repaired the job won't need to be repeated in the future.
